FAQs

What is War Child?

War Child is striving for a world where children’s lives are no longer torn apart by war.

We protect, educate, and stand up for the rights of children caught up in conflict. We aim to reach children as early as possible when conflict breaks out, and stay to support them through their recovery - helping to keep them safe, give them an education, and equip them with skills for the future.

We understand children’s needs, respect their rights, and put them at the center of the solution - from supporting Syrian children to access education to reintegrating child soldiers in the Central African Republic and promoting justice for young people in detention in Afghanistan. Together with our partners, we work in 15 countries across Africa, Asia, and the Middle East, and Latin America.

We also work with children and young people to change systems and practices that affect them – campaigning on the root causes of conflict and demanding that children are at the centre of humanitarian response.

What is the Shop For Good?

We have teamed up with our friends from the creative industry to offer everything from bespoke homeware, limited edition prints and virtual gifting, to unique one-of-a-kind experiences, to support children in emergency crisis situations around the world.

This winter, shop to help us be there for children who need us most, when they need us most – because we will never give up on children living through conflict.

What are you fundraising for?

Every purchase made at The War Child Winter Shop will help to support children who are facing emergency crisis situations, in countries where their lives have been torn apart by war.

For a child, the consequence of war often means going without necessities like food, water and shelter. Add to this diminished access to health, education and protection services, and that child is facing challenges no child should ever have to face.

Today we are seeing some of the worst humanitarian crises of our generation unfold. Right now, in Afghanistan thousands of children have fled their homes in search of safety - they urgently need food, hygiene kits and psychological first aid. In Yemen, more than 2 million children are facing malnutrition, 400,000 of which are at risk of starving to death.

But just one child caught up in conflict is one child too many.

That is why every purchase from Shop for Good counts and will go towards ensuring that we can be there for the children who need us most, when they need us most – because we will never give up on children living through conflict.

Why are jumpers available here and on Teemills? What’s the difference?

War Child has been working with TeeMill for over 4 years on our #WearitForWarChild campaign.

Whilst there is no difference in the peace and love products themselves, all products purchased through the Shop For Good will be fulfilled by War Child’s external partner, Bamboo fulfilment. Any returns must be made through the place of purchase. All t-shirt purchased on the #WearitForWarChild platform will be fulfilled and managed by TeeMill alongside all other #WearitForWarChild designs.
